Where Confidence, Skill & Academic Success Are Built
At our EGD tutoring centre, we provide your child with expert guidance from qualified Structural Engineers and Professional Draughtsmen who have real industry experience.
Our educators understand that every learner is different, and we take the time to explain concepts patiently, step-by-step, ensuring true understanding — not just memorization.
Our program is fully aligned with both the CAPS curriculum and IEB private school standards, with carefully structured workbooks, practice lessons, and progressive skill-building activities that strengthen confidence and performance.
We support learners in every aspect of Engineering Graphics and Design, including:
PAT (Practical Assessment Task) development & execution
Test and Exam Preparation (mid-year, prelims, finals)
Class assignments and project guidance
Software training used in real engineering industries, including:
AutoCAD
Revit
Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical 3D modelling tools
Our goal is not only to help learners succeed academically, but to equip them with real technical skills that will benefit them in university, apprenticeships, and future engineering careers.
Our Core Areas of Tutoring
1. Technical Drawing Foundations
We teach the fundamentals of precise drawing, including instrument use, line types, lettering, scaling and clean layout — ensuring students build strong core technical drawing skills from the start.
2. Orthographic Projection
Learners master how to convert 3D objects into accurate 2D views using 1st and 3rd angle projection, preparing them for tests, exams, PATS, and real engineering workflows.
3. Isometric & Pictorial Illustrations
We guide students in producing clear and visually accurate 3D drawings and pictorial representations, helping them understand how objects take shape in space.
4. Solid Geometry & Sectional Views
Students learn to interpret and draw complex solids (cylinders, pyramids, prisms, cones) and produce sectional views and true shapes — vital for both exams and real-world engineering.
5. Mechanical Drawing & Assembly Diagrams
We cover nuts, bolts, keys, joins, tolerances, manufacturing symbols and sectional assemblies — developing strong design interpretation skills used in mechanical and manufacturing engineering.
6. Civil Drawing & Architectural Plans
Learners gain confidence creating full house plans, elevations and sections according to SANS standards, including annotations, scale, layout and construction detailing.
7. Interpenetrations & Surface Developments
We teach how to draw intersections and develop surfaces for components like ducts, hoppers and piping transitions — an important exam section and real-world fabrication requirement.
8. Loci, Cams & Mechanisms
Students learn how motion is transferred in machines through cams, followers and linkages, and how to accurately represent motion in 2D technical drawings.
9. Electrical Diagrams & Symbols
We introduce learners to standard electrical and electronic schematic symbols and show how real-world electrical systems are represented clearly and logically.
10. CAD Software Training (AutoCAD, Revit & 3D Design)
We teach industry-standard CAD tools used in engineering offices nationwide, giving learners a professional advantage while still in school — including 2D drafting and 3D modelling.
11. PAT (Practical Assessment Tasks) Guidance & Mentorship
We provide structured guidance through the full PAT process — from research and concept sketches to final drawings and presentation layout — ensuring students submit polished, confident work.
12. Exam & Test Preparation
We offer focused revision classes, past paper walkthroughs, marking guideline breakdowns, and individual coaching to strengthen exam performance and boost exam confidence.
I can’t thank you enough! When I was in Grade 8, I was struggling terribly and only scoring around 23%. I felt hopeless and thought I would never catch up. But with the patient guidance, personalized lessons, and constant support, my understanding of the subjects completely transformed. By the time I reached matric, I was not only confident but achieving 95%! This has truly changed my future and showed me that with the right help, anything is possible.

ABOUT US
Building Beyond Boundaries
Our tutors are led by qualified Structural Engineers and Professional Draughtsmen with decades of experience in both education and real-world design. We have been tutoring learners since the early 2000s, working across CAPS and IEB private school systems, as well as supporting students through university engineering modules and even professionals in the workplace.
Our teaching approach is clear, structured, patient and practical, helping learners truly understand the principles behind every drawing. We guide students through classwork, PATs, tests and exams, and also teach industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modelling tools to give them an early technical advantage.
At EGD Made Easy, we focus on real learning, real confidence, and real results — preparing your child not just for school, but for future studies and careers in design, architecture and engineering.
